I'm Off To Meet The World

Um, in this fall -- man, this is very tough -- um, in this fall I'm going to take my talents to Florence, Italy and, um, join Smart Trip Europe.

I'm not a fan of Lebron but I can't pass up an opportunity to use his now infamous last words to Cleveland... but I just added my personal touch.

It's true.

This fall I am going to be moving to Florence, Italy to work as a Tour Promoter/Sales and Social Media Marketing Coordinator for a student travel company called Smart Trip Europe. When I heard about this opportunity, I was immediately hooked and applied. Lucky enough, I was hired and off I'll be going on August 16 (funny enough, that's my 24th birthday)!

*Shameless Plug Alert*
If you're studying abroad or know someone who is, head over to SmartTrip.it/en  and use promo code MAGGIE to save €€€.

You may be thinking to yourself, "Maggie, you're crazy!", "You can make so much more money here with a real job", "Why would you move all the way across the world?" The simple answer is WHY NOT! I challenge you to ask yourself "Why stay?" Whether it's Pittsburgh, New York, Cleveland or Columbus!

Right after I accepted this job, I came across an article on twitter titled "Your Twenties Are Not For Comfort Zones". That was the only sign I needed to know that I was doing the right thing. I've always wanted to be like Anthony Bourdain or Rick Steves, getting paid to travel the world, although I'll be making nowhere near their salaries (let's be honest, I'll never even come close, unless by some form of a miracle this takes off...Shoutout Barstool Sports or MTV, Hire ME!)

One of my friends sent me an inspirational quote she came across that reminded her of me. Summed up, it basically said "if you're unhappy, move". I'm not saying I'm unhappy. I love Pittsburgh. My family is here. My friends are here. But Pittsburgh is my comfort zone. I've never been one to stay in one place for a long time. I've also never seen myself living the typical cookie-cutter life, working in a cubical 9-5 and being married by 26. That's just not me.

My move to Italy is not permanent and who knows, I may be back in 4 months. But like the article said, your twenties are not for comfort zones. So Arrivederci Pittsburgh and Buon Giorno Florence!

Love Always,
Marge
